EARLY YEARS CURRICULUM · SOUTH WOODFORD
Learning through
little adventures.
Our play-based curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing from ages 2–5.
Following the EYFS
The Early Years Foundation Stage provides the framework for learning and development in early years settings in England. At Trinity Hall, children learn through a mix of play, everyday experiences, adult support and activities shaped by their interests.
The EYFS covers seven areas: communication and language; physical development; personal, social and emotional development; literacy; mathematics; understanding the world; and expressive arts and design.
Noticing progress
Staff observe children as they play, talk and take part in activities. These observations help the team understand what a child can do, what interests them and what might support their next steps. Families are invited to share their own knowledge and observations too.
Children develop at different rates. If you have a question about your child’s learning or additional needs, please speak with the team about how support is considered and reviewed.
A SHARED PICTURE OF PROGRESS
Families are part of the story.
We value conversations with parents and use online observations to share children’s experiences. Ask the team how Tapestry is used and how you can contribute to your child’s learning journal.
